Snake Bite! Poor Miss Marie and Mr. Sam had the scare of their lives last night! A copperhead bit Marie on the foot. Apparently, she startled one into defense when she took out the trash cans. He was coiled up by the cans. Yikes!! She and Sam spent the night in the ER. They gave her medicine for the pain, but that's all and told her to elevate her foot for 48 hours. The swelling will worsen and her leg will turn black and blue all over. They are the dearest neighbors. Poor thing is petrified of snakes. We were so concerned that night when we heard sirens blaring down our street. 1 firetruck, 4 police cars, 1 unmarked squad car and an ambulance. But the good news is that, (if there's good news at all when a snake is involved) she will be alright. She must take it easy which is a whole new normal for Marie.

so sorry for your neighbor Miss Marie! well at least the calvary came in to save her....what a procession of vehicles!! hope she's better soon!

Jeesh, that looks like my foot on a good day. I can't even imagine living through a snake bite episode, even a garter(sp?) snake would do me in,heart failure or something....Condolences to Miss Marie
