Wake Co. Schools have started a new Early Release Program to provide time for the teachers' continuing education (or some such nonsense). Every day school begins 10 minutes earlier than before. Each Wednesday students are dismissed an hour early and 6 of those ER Wednesdays are Extended Release days wherein they are dismissed 2.5 hours early. Since today was an extended release day, I thought we'd go visit the Ellis family who are in a different county and have not started back to school yet. Armed with tasty snacks and the boys, we descended upon their compound for an afternoon of Wii and outdoor baseball. Sarah and I chatted the afternoon away - so refreshing since I had spent the better part of the morning cleaning out organizing the garage - AGAIN!
